Enjoy an authentic farmstay in the Swan Valley, one of Perth's original agricultural areas. Whilst in the district we visit a local fruit grower, a vineyard and experience native Australian animals.
 

DAY 1 - PERTH TO SWAN VALLEY  (D)
Travelling out of Perth we head to Western Australia's finest agricultural region, the Swan Valley. Passing by the historical town of Guildford we visit a pottery store before wine tasting at the states oldest and best known vineyard, Sandalford Wines. Founded in 1840, today they offer an extensive cellar and wine emporium gift store featuring stunning wine accessories and artworks created by local artists. We then sto at the Swan Valley outlet of the Margaret River Chocolate Factory.

From here we have a close up experience with native Australian animals at Caversham Wildlife Park, where you have the opportunity to feed kangaroos and take photo's of adorable koalas. Around 4.00 pm we arrive for our farmstay at The River Retreat. This evening, enjoy a barbeque dinner and a torchlite walk to the 'Bush Camp' where you can join in the fun of billy tea and story telling around an open fire.

DAY 2 - SWAN VALLEY TO PERTH (B, L)
This morning enjoy a hearty farm style breakfast. Afterwards, we feed farm animals (30 minutes). Following check-out at 10.00 am you experience a horse drawn wagon ride to Edgecombes produce grower for fruit and wine tasting and in the harvest season try grape picking.

After the wagon trail try Boomerang throwing or learn how to play the didgereedoo. Returning to the farm, you enjoy  lunch (12.30 pm) then learn of native plants on a guided 30 minute (500 metre) bushwalk with your farmstay host. Afterwards, you have free time to relax in the rural atmosphere. Walk around the farm, stroll through the small hobby orchard, enjoy the riverbank area. Children can use up some energy in the playground or pool. Following afternoon tea at 2.00 pm you are collected for the return trip to Perth with arrival at approximately 2.450 pm.

Cottages: are 4 star, 2 bedroom with 1 bathroom, fully self contained with cooking facilities. Property has 2 x 2 bedroom cottages with 4 single beds, 1 queen bed, and a folda bed (sleeps up to 7). There is also a 1 x 3 bedroom cottage with 2 king size beds (which split into 4 singles if required) and 2 sets of bunk beds (sleeps up to 8). 1 x 4 Bedroom cottage with 4 king beds (8 singles) Cottages feature reverse cycle air-conditioning, linen, towels, fully equipped kitchens including microwave and all other cooking facilities, TV's and VCR's. Other facilities at the property include games room with pool table, piano & TV lounge, laundry and barbeque facilities and swimming pool.

Departs Perth every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
