An
overnighter combining sightseeing around
Albany, a cruise at Walpole with a visit
to the Tree Top Walk.

Day
1: Perth to Albany Option
1 (L, D ) Option 2 (no meals) We
journey south via farmland country to
reach Western Australia's only mountainous
terrain and take a scenic drive through
the Stirling Range National Park. This
magnificent botanic reserve features
rugged peaks up to 1,000 metres above
sea level. We continue to enjoy the
views travelling by the Porongurup Range
before arriving in the historic port
of Albany late afternoon. From Mount
Clarence Lookout we enjoy panoramic
views over Albany and King George Sound
waterway below.
Overnight: Comfort
Inn, Albany or similar (Motel room with
ensuite bathroom)
Day
2: Albany to Perth Option 1 (B,
L) Option 2 (B) Following
morning sightseeing at the renowned
stunning landforms, 'The Gap' and 'Natural
Bridge', we travel via Denmark through
spectacular karri tree foresets to the
coastal resort town of Walpole. Here
we join our local guide 'Gary' for a
luncheon cruise on Nornalup Inlet, widely
regarded as one of the last great wilderness
areas. Gary will delight all with his
incredible knowledge and love of this
area.
Next
stop is the Valley of the Giants, here
we experience the Tree Top Walk, a 400
metre long elevated walkway constructed
through the forest canopy which gradually
reaches up to 40 metres above ground.
Bird watchers will be delighted with
the opportunity to view native Australian
birds close up. For those unsure about
the elevation, a wonderful walk on ground
level is available through the Ancient
Empire, a remarkable pocket of Tingle
Forest. These wide girthed trees, goblin
like in appearance can grow up to 5
metres in diamter.
After
your day amongst nature we head back
to Perth stopping briefly for a light
evening meal (own expense) in Kodja before arrival at approximately
10.30 pm.
Departs Perth every Monday.
