Day 1 Tue. Kununurra.
Arrive in Kununurra and transfer to your hotel. This picturesque town, the name of which is a local Aboriginal word meaning ‘meeting of big waters’, is the eastern gateway to the Kimberley. Kununurra became well-known in the 1960s as the centre for the Ord River Irrigation Scheme. Stay: Kununurra, All Seasons Hotel.

Day 2 Wed. APT EXCLUSIVE! Mitchell Plateau, Rock Art, Mitchell Falls.
This exciting day of 4-wheel drive adventure touring is exclusive to APT. Rise early this morning for a spectacular flight over El Questro Station to the Mitchell Plateau, passing Wyndham and Drysdale River National Park before landing on the plateau itself. We are greeted by our guide and taken to APT’s exclusive Ungolan Wilderness Camp for breakfast. Then it’s time for our 4-wheel drive adventure to begin. Take a guided hike to the awe-inspiring Mitchell Falls – created by water from the Mitchell River cascading over the edge of the plateau. Explore the falls with a local guide. Learn about the region’s flora and fauna and interpret Aboriginal art.

After lunch at the falls and a refreshing swim, you can choose to hike out of the falls or take a helicopter flight above this beautiful landmark (own expense). Enjoy a three-course meal at camp this evening. Please note: A reasonable level of fitness required. Stay: Mitchell Plateau, Ungolan Wilderness Camp. Day 3 Thur. Scenic Flight to Kununurra, Ord River Cruise
Join an early morning scenic flight to Kununurra and take a cruise of the Ord River. 11 Day guests (WCXBB) join in time for cruise. Enjoy the town at your leisure today. Window-shop for pink diamonds mined in the region, or view beautiful Kimberley art at the Diversion Gallery in the heart of town. Stay: Kununurra, All Seasons Hotel. (B)

Bungle BunglesDay 4 Fri. Purnululu National Park.
Transfer from your hotel for a flight to Purnululu National Park – an area that has been inhabited by Aboriginal people for some 20 000 years. From the air, view the unique sandstone Bungle Bungle domes, dating back 350 million years. On arrival, transfer by 4-wheel drive to our exclusive Bungle Bungle Wilderness Camp for breakfast, before driving to the northern gorges. Walk along an ancient riverbed to Mini Palms Gorge (requires a reasonable level of fitness). Walk into Echidna Chasm, considered one of Australia's most spectacular walking destinations.

Day 5 Sat. Bungle Bungle, Cathedral Gorge.
Discover the striped beehive domes known as the Bungle Bungle Range. Take a guided walk into the natural amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge and explore the ancient dry bed of Piccaninny Creek. 9 Day guests (WCXB) join in Kununurra. Wander around this magnificent area, a photographer’s paradise and home to rare Livistona palms. A local guide will explain the area’s unique geology.(B L D)

Day 6 Sun. Kununurra Town Tour.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before a scenic flight back to Kununurra. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, join a tour of Kununurra and discover its history. Stay: Kununurra, All Seasons Hotel. (B D)

Day 7 Mon. Five Rivers Lookout, El Questro.
In Wyndham, take in spectacular views of the region’s waterways merging with the Indian Ocean from Five Rivers Lookout – the highest point of the Bastion Range at 360 metres above sea level. Travel to the acclaimed El Questro Station – 405 000 hectares in the heart of the Kimberley frontier. El Questro Homestead Upgrade Stay two nights at this luxurious homestead, with gourmet meals, drinks and most activities included. This upgrade replaces accommodation at Emma Gorge Resort. Chamberlain GorgeDay 8 Tue. El Questro, Freedom of Choice Touring.
Explore El Questro with our Freedom of Choice Touring; it won’t cost you an extra cent. Choose a guided horse ride, or join the History and Bushtucker tour. Alternatively, cruise between the sheer rock walls of beautiful Chamberlain Gorge and see ancient Wandjina rock art. Later, walk to Zebedee Springs and soak in the hot pools amid lush ferns. Enjoy a free afternoon – walk to scenic Emma Gorge or simply put your feet up and relax by the pool.

Day 9 Wed. Argyle Diamond Mine, Halls Creek.
Enjoy a guided tour of the Argyle Diamond Mine – the world's biggest producer of diamonds, contributing approximately one-third of the world's natural supply. See the exquisite diamonds on display, including the rare pink diamond. At Halls Creek visit the ‘China Wall’. Stay: Halls Creek, Kimberley Hotel. (B L D)

Day 10 Thur. Geikie Gorge Cruise with Ranger.
In Geikie Gorge National Park, join the local ranger for a cruise through the spectacular limestone walls of the gorge. The permanent fresh water supply of the gorge supports stingrays, crocodiles and many other animals. Continue to Fitzroy Crossing. Stay: Fitzroy Crossing, Fitzroy River Lodge. (B D)

Windjana Gorge.Day 11 Fri. Windjana Gorge, Boab Prison Tree.
Travel to Windjana Gorge National Park. This area is rich in Aboriginal legend and natural beauty. See ancient marine fossils embedded in the gorge walls and search for crocodiles on the banks of the Lennard River. Inspect the Boab Prison Tree and visit Derby's circular wharf. Two Night Stay: Broome, Cable Beach Club Resort, right opposite breathtaking Cable Beach. (B)

Day 12 Sat. Broome, Freedom of Choice Touring, Ocean Sunset, Dine Around Dinner.
Indulge in Freedom of Choice Touring at no extra cost. Take a hovercraft flight over the Roebuck Bay mudflats or cruise on an historic Pearl Lugger. Alternatively, take a sunset camel ride on Cable Beach, or learn about Aboriginal culture at the Manbana Discovery Centre. Tonight, watch the sun set before our Dine Around Dinner.
