Day 1: Fri. Darwin. Welcome
upon arrival in Darwin. Tour this tropical city, including
the Botanic Gardens and Fannie Bay. Enjoy a delicious Welcome
Dinner tonight. Day 2: Sat. Wangi Falls, Katherine Gorge Guided Cruise, Rock Art. Explore
the beauty of Wangi Falls. Continue to Katherine and Nitmiluk
National Park. Cruise between the towering sandstone walls
of Katherine Gorge and view ancient Aboriginal rock art. Day 3: Sun. Western Australia, Lake Argyle, Ord River Wildlife Cruise, Kununurra. Cross the
border into Western Australia, and the Kimberley. See Lake
Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the southern hemisphere
with 18 times the capacity of Sydney Harbour. Cruise the
majestic Ord River. Keep an eye out for crocodiles and beautiful
native birdlife. Day 4: Mon. Wyndham, El Questro Station. Travel
through gorge country to Wyndham, Australia's most northerly
port. Enjoy breathtaking 360 degree views from Five Rivers
Lookout. Travel to El Questro Station, in the heart of the
Kimberley. Choose a guided horse ride, join the History and Bushtucker Tour or cruise through Chamberlain Gorge to see Wandjina rock art. Later, walk to Zebedee Springs to soak in the hot pools. Enjoy a free afternoon - perhaps walk to Emma Gorge. (BD) Day 6: Wed. Argyle Diamond Mine. Tour the
Argyle Diamond Mine, the largest of its kind in the world
and responsible for one-third of the world's supply. Marvel
at the rare pink diamonds on display. Day 7: Thur. Geikie Gorge Cruise. Cruise
the mighty Fitzroy River between the two-tone cliffs of
Geikie Gorge. Explore the area with a local ranger and watch
for the freshwater crocodiles Day 8: Fri. Windjana Gorge, Broome. View ancient marine fossils in the limestone walls of Windjana Gorge, which was part of a coral reef during the Devonian Age. This area is regarded as an important world geology site and a great freshwater crocodile spotting location. In Broome, enjoy the evening to relax at the resort. Two Night Stay: Broome, Cable Beach Club Resort, right opposite famous Cable Beach. (B) Day 9: Sat. Broome, Freedom of Choice Touring, Ocean Sunset, Dine Around Dinner. Choose between a breathtaking hovercraft flight over the Roebuck Bay mudflats, a tour of the fascinating Pearl Luggers museum, an amazing sunset camel ride on Cable Beach or a visit the the Manbana Aquaculture Hatchery and Discovery Centre. Take in the sunset over magnificent Cable Beach before a delicious Dine Around Dinner tonight. (BD) Day 10: Sun. Broome, Port Hedland. Travel
through one of the most sparsely populated areas in Australia
as we skirt the Great Sandy Desert and Eighty-Mile Beach
to reach the coastal town of Port Hedland, renowned for
its turtle and whale-watching, sports fishing and iron-ore
mining. Day 11: Mon. Marble Bar, Newman. Tour the
mining town of Port Hedland, including the Observation Tower
and the Cultural and Heritage Trail. Visit Marble Bar, renowned
to be the hottest place in Australia and featured in the
Guinness Book of Records. Continue on to Newman for a relaxing
night's stay. Day 12: Tue. Guided Mine Tour, Karijini. At historic Newman, take a tour of the Mt Whaleback Iron Ore Mine, the largest open-cut mining operation in the world. Discover the striking gorges and emerald coloured rock pools of Karijini (Hamersley Range) National Park, where sheer walls of coloured rock and everchanging colours create a striking landscape. Stay: Tom Price, Karijini Lodge. (BD) Day 13: Wed. Hamersley Gorge, Pilbara, Millstream-Chichester National Park. An area
of contrast and beauty and the traditional home of the Yinjibarndi
Aboriginal people. Stroll among the native palms, ferns
and lilies. View stunning Hamersley Gorge with its unusual
striations and awe-inspiring waterfalls. Travel to Karratha
- the Pilbara capital. Day 14: Thur. Karratha, Historic Cossack Township, Cossack Adventure Cruise. Today, we join the Cossack Adventure Cruise. View seabird rookeries and cruise into the tidal waters of the Harding River Estuary. See Jarman Island, including the lighthouse and keeper's quarters, View the incredible 19th Century architecture of historic Cossack - home to the first pearling industry in Western Australia. (BD) Day 15: Fri. Karratha, Exmouth. Tour the
North West Shelf Visitors Centre, view Red Dog Monument
and the Saltworks at nearby Dampier. Cross the rugged ranges
to the maritime park of Exmouth. Day 16: Sat. Coral Bay, Ningaloo Marine Park. Journey to Vlaming Head, for stunning coastal views of this area. Travel to Coral Bay, gateway to the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park. Cruise the beautiful coloured coral reefs and view the unique fish in these tropical waters. Stay: Carnarvon, Gateway Inn. (BD) Day 17: Sun. Shark Bay World Heritage Area, Dugong/Mermaid Cruise, Monkey Mia. Cruise
Shark Bay in search of the dugong, a relative of the walrus,
and believed to have inspired the myth of the mermaid. The
largest population of this mystical creature exists in Shark
Bay, with over 10 000 dugongs feeding from the vast seagrass
beds. Day 18: Mon. Wild Dolphins, Dine Around Dinner. Interact
with wild bottle-nosed dolphins as they come close to shore
(subject to appearance). Visit Shell Beach, one of two worldwide,
consisting of billions of tiny shells. View ancient stromatolites
at Hamelin Pool. In Geraldton, enjoy our exclusive Dine
Around Dinner.
In Nambung
National Park, explore among the eerie Pinnacles - one of
Australia's best known landscapes and a favourite subject
for photographers. Stroll through the thousands of limestone
pillars rising up to six metres out of the yellow sands,
creating a scene from a science-fiction film. 19 Day Passengers
