Sightseeing Highlights

Day 1. Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) National Park, Cathedral Gorge, Piccaninny Creek.

Transfer from your hotel and take a scenic flight to one of Australia’s last frontiers, World Heritage-listed Purnululu National Park. Marvel at the majesty of Cathedral Gorge as you test out the acoustics of this natural amphitheatre. Walk up the dry bed of Piccaninny Creek for a close inspection of the Bungle Bungle domes. A local guide will describe the significance of the domes.

Stay: Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge. Enjoy the comfort of our permanent tented cabins with comfortable beds, crisp linen, doona, pillows, low voltage lighting and private en suite facilities.   (LD)

Day 2. Echidna Chasm, Mini Palms Gorge.
After breakfast this morning, take an easy hike along a Livistona palm-fringed trail into magical Echidna Chasm. With sunlight streaming down through narrow cracks in the towering rocks, this is an ideal opportunity for some spectacular photography. Then, after a picnic lunch, walk along an ancient river bed to pretty Mini Palms Gorge (reasonable fitness required).

This afternoon, take a scenic flight back to Kununurra, where your tour concludes with a transfer to your accommodation.  (BL)
