DAY
1 - KUNUNURRA TO THE
BUNGLE BUNGLE
After
breakfast, you will
be collected by Slingair
at 7.30am and taken
to the Slingair Terminal.
Your flight path to
the World Heritage Listed
Bungle Bungle takes
some of the East Kimberley's
magnificent icons. We
fly past the Diversion
Dam, Lake Kununurra
and over the Ord River
Irrigation Area before
crossing the Carr Boyd
Range – which holds
back the waters of our
inland sea – Lake Argyle.
Aerial views of the
Ord Dam and the full
expanse of Lake Argyle
takes around 20 minutes.
Fly past Lissadell Homestead,
over the Osmand Range
and onto the Bungle
Bungle. Landing within
the Bungle Bungle, take
your 4WD/walking tour
up Piccaninny Creek
and Gorge to Cathedral
Gorge for a light lunch.
On return to the airstrip,
enjoy a 30 minute helicopter
flight over the fragile
and inaccessible areas
of the massif. Enjoy
“safari style” camping
within the Bungle Bungle
for the night.
