TOUR 5T The Works with Truscott Airbase and Aboriginal Cultural Tour Alligator Airways in association with Mungalalu Tours are now offering an exciting new option on our popular Works Tour. Instead of the usual tour through Kalumburu and the Mission, this option stops at the Historical World War 2 Airbase at Truscott for a 3 hour ground tour hosted by Uunguu Rangers. All aerial highlights remain the same as the Tour 5 detailed above. Your Mungalalu tour combines the WW2 “secret” historic Truscott Airbase and Uunguu traditional culture. Many of the elders helped build Truscott. Your Uunguu Ranger hosts will guide you through the bomber crash site and WW2 operations camps, take you on a walk from the Garmbemirri Ranger base to ancestral rock art and learn about bush tucker, then finish with damper and tea before re-boarding you aircraft. From Truscott you will overfly Port Warrender and orbit the spectacular Mitchell Falls before arriving at Drysdale River Station for a one hour lunch and comfort stop. The return passage takes you over the Pentecost and Durack Ranges, El Questro Station and the awesome Cockburn Range.
