in a hot air balloon, all year round

A Safe Flight - Your
safety is our first priority.
Just like Qantas and Virgin
Blue, Balloon Sunrise is a registered airline, holder of Air
Operators Certificate VT589205-03 issued by the Australian Civil
Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). We exceed and fully comply
with the laws and regulations that ensure safe flying in the
air over Australia.
Our pilots are Commercial Balloon
Pilots, licensed by CASA. Every year they must undergo regular
training, reviews of their flying skills and medical checkups.
But the legal requirements
are just the beginning of Balloon Sunrise's commitment to your
safety. Our policy is that your pilots
must be not only licensed Commercial Balloon Pilots but they
also must have had more than 700 hours experience in the air
before they are allowed to fly you in either the complex airspace
over Melbourne or the Yarra Valley.
The balloons you fly in are
all purchased new, direct from the manufacturer. We do not allow
you to fly in second-hand aircraft. Every flight made is subject
to a rigorous post flight review conducted by the Balloon Sunrise
Chief Pilot and the Chief of Crew
What to Wear
The
temperature in the balloon is the same as you will find on the
ground. Dress in comfortable clothing for the season. You should
wear waterproof shoes and warm socks because we often take off
and land on damp grass. A hat is a good idea to protect you
from the radiant heat out of the balloon burners.
Bring your camera or video
with you - everything about a balloon flight is worth photographing.

A Gift with a difference
Do

voucher and gift pack. The Balloon Sunrise gift voucher is open dated and valid for 12 months and
allows the person who receives your gift to book a flight on the date that best
suits them.
Flight Cancellation &
Conditions
• By its nature, hot air ballooning
is highly dependent upon weather conditions.
• However,
sometimes flights are cancelled for safety reasons and should
this happen you may transfer your booking to another date or
receive a refund less a small administrative fee (see following
cancellation details).
• If a cancellation is likely, we
may notify you either the evening before, or on the morning
of the flight.
• Please note that if for some reason you
need to change your arrangements and transfer to another date,
a minimum of 7 days notice is required.
• If you decide to
cancel your flight altogether more than one week in advance,
a cancellation fee of $100.00 per person will apply.
• Passengers
late on the morning of the flight or “No Shows” will incur total
loss of payment and forfeit the right to rebook another flight
departure date.
• Bookings that are cancelled or postponed
within one week of departure will incur total loss of payment.
• Refunds are NOT APPLICABLE to Gift Vouchers or Discounted
Vouchers.
• If your flight is cancelled for safety reasons
and unsuitable weather you may transfer your booking to another
date or receive a refund less a small administrative fee.

All Flight Vouchers are valid 12 months from the date of purchase.
Gift Vouchers are non-transferable or refundable. Gift Vouchers
cannot be extended if clients have not attempted to fly within
expiry date.
• As per CASA standards: Women who are more
than 12 weeks pregnant are ineligible to fly.
• Children
must be 6 years of age and over.
• Please note that gift
vouchers are open dated for 12 months from date of purchase
and are strictly non-refundable.
