Note: The traditional owners would prefer that visitors do not climb Uluru.

DAY 1: Tuesday - Darwin
After making your own way to Darwin it’s time to check in to the Darwin Central Hotel for your overnight stay.

DAY 2: Wednesday - Darwin to Katherine
This morning it’s time to join The Ghan where you’ll travel South past lush, tropical scenery to Katherine and stop for around 4 hours giving you enough time to look around town or enjoy a spectacular Whistle Stop Tour† at Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. (BLD)

DAY 3: Thursday - Alice Springs
Awake to the lovely desert scenery of Central Australia before arriving in Alice Springs where you enjoy an afternoon tour of the sights of ‘The Alice’ including the historic Telegraph Station, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Alice Springs Reptile Park. Finish the day with panoramic views of Alice Springs and the ranges from the top of Anzac Hill. (BL)

DAY 4: Friday - Uluru (Ayers Rock) & Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)
Board your coach and travel to Uluru through the West MacDonnell and James Ranges.
Visit a camel farm and if you’re in the mood for a bit of fun, go for a quick ride on a camel (additional cost). Stop at a lookout to view the majestic Atila (Mt Connor) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort: Outback Pioneer Hotel.
Then it’s on to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta where you spend time exploring Walpa Gorge. Follow the creek
between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. Late afternoon travel to Uluru for a sensational sunset viewing while enjoying nibbles and a glass of wine before returning to Ayers Rock Resort.
Upgrade this package to include an authentic outback BBQ $60 p.p. extra.
If you would prefer to spend longer at Kata Tjuta on a fantastic 2-3 hour ‘Valley of the Winds’ guided walk (for those with a good level of fitness) followed by a delicious outback BBQ dinner and stargazing (weather permitting), please ask your travel consultant for details.

DAY 5: Saturday - Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Alice Springs
You’ve seen the sunset, now see a whole different side of the changing colours of Uluru at sunrise. Choose to either climb Uluru or for the non-climbers, participate on a guided cultural base walk. Both tours include watching sunrise at Uluru, a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Your day finishes with a drive back to Alice Springs where you’ll stay the night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

DAY 6: Sunday - Rejoin The Ghan to Adelaide
Your morning is free to relax or take in one of the fantastic morning tours listed on pages 31-32 before you transfer to the station. Once aboard you’ll enjoy Gold Kangaroo service and the timeless outback scenery as you head
south overnight to Port Augusta. (BD)

DAY 7: Monday - Arrive Adelaide
Enjoy one last breakfast on board before ending your holiday at Adelaide’s Keswick Rail Terminal. (B).
