ADVENTURE TOURS

Tall Timbers operate a unique experience for its guests and visitors to the region - the opportunity for the adventurous to experience full-day tours of the ‘Edge of the World’ in an OKA 14 seat four wheel drive vehicle.

Adventure Tours include the spectacular rugged coastlines of the West Coast with views of the Woolnorth Wind Farm, as well as a visit to Forestry Tasmania’s Dismal Swamp.

A magical experience follows, as you enter the largest cool climate rainforest in the southern hemisphere, the Tarkine.

 

FULL DAY ADVENTURE TOUR

Tour includes morning tea and a full gourmet lunch.
Arrangements can be made to visit the Dismal Swamp Site at an additional cost (24 hours notification required)

Minimum of 2 passengers required for tour.
Tours are available everyday except Christmas Day and operate on demand only

EVENING PENGUIN TOURS

Depart Tall Timbers at 8pm and return 10pm
Tour includes supper on return to Tall Timbers Tasmania.

HELICOPTER TOURS

When visiting the Northwest of our island the Tarkine Wilderness Flight Experience gives visitors a rare opportunity.

Helicopter tours offer a unique insight into one of the most rugged and yet diverse regions of the world.

Join the Sea Eagles, Peregrine Falcon and Wedge Tails to soar above this stunning landscape.

A scenic helicopter flight will take in spectacular coastlines, showcase the history of the expansive Woolnorth property, offer a close-up view of the largest windfarm in Australia and will sweep visitors over the canopy of the Tarkine, the largest cool climate rainforest in the southern hemisphere.

COASTAL SUNSET EXPERIENCE

Experience a classic West Coast of Tasmania Sunset at Eagle Rock on Tasmania’s wild west coast, with chilled Tasmanian sparkling wine or an refreshing local beer and knock back some freshly shucked oysters.

Flight time from Tall Timbers to the wild west coast and return is 30 mins and we spend 1 hour 30 mins on the ground at Eagle Rock where you can explore the landscape with a short walk to the beach and the possibility of seeing Wedge-tailed Eagles. After your walk sit back relax and watch the the sun set in the west before returning to Tall Timbers just before dark.

WOOLNORTH EXPERIENCE

This tour departs Tall Timbers and takes you to the far north west tip of the island and includes a visit to the largest windfarm in the southern hemisphere, Cape Grim. Here you can breathe the cleanest air in the world, and see the historic Woolnorth rural property, the home of the Van Diemens Land Company headquaters.

The tour includes morning and afternoon tea and sumptious BBQ lunch with a selection of beverages provided and a return flight from the Woolnorth property, and over the top of the Arthur River and the spectacular Tarkine Wilderness area. On arrival back at Tall Timbers sit back and enjoy a glass of Tasmania wine of local beer and reflect on an amazing day out at the “edge of the world” .
