Tucked in a quiet bay of Macquarie Harbour, the
quaint waterfront village of Strahan
is the gateway to the Tasmanian
Wilderness World Heritage Area
After cruising across Macquarie Harbour you'll glide past waterfalls and the
magnificent mirrored reflections of the Gordon River before stepping ashore at
Heritage Landing. Here you can walk into the green silence of the rainforest to
see trees 2000 years old.
However, there's a lot more on your cruise route than
World Heritage wilderness. You'll see Hells Gate where the harbour opens to the
ocean, Tasmania's world-renowned salmon farms, and you'll visit notorious Sarah
Island. Walk among the ruins and hear your guide bring the past alive with
astonishing stories of when convicts built amazing ships from precious Huon
pine.
On
the main deck you can select from
two seating styles - centre atrium
and window seats. All are forward
facing, spacious and comfortable.
The
premium option is the Captain's
Premier Upper Deck. This is your
luxury sightseeing experience -
it includes fine food, wine and
all beverages, exclusive deck space
and a dedicated nature guide. A
courtesy transfer is available for
Captain's Premier Upper Deck passengers
to and from your Strahan accommodation.
Wherever
you sit, Lady Jane Franklin's floor
to ceiling windows give you superb
views of rainforest and river, mountains
and harbour.
With
two guided shore excursions, we
will ensure you receive the very
best wilderness experience, and
returning at 2:00pm allows furthe
discoveries around Strahan. The
Lady Jane departs for an afternoon
cruise during the peak season.
Strahan Village is
the perfect base for exploring Tasmania's wilderness, with Gordon River Cruises and West Coast Wilderness
Railway right at your doorstep.
