Feel a part of
nature again Our
Philosophy is simple. We wanted to create a place where people
could feel a part of nature again. To create a place where one can
escape from the crammed footpaths, stuffy elevators, congested
traffic, lifeless concrete and noise of city life. For all, a
place where one can simply be surrounded by natural beauty.
All
aspects in the creation of Piermont Retreat, from choosing the
property, to the planning, design and construction of each cottage, have revolved around the objective of keeping
ecology, health and comfort in mind. As a result, we are able to
invite you to a very different, pristine and luxurious retreat
experience.
Architecturally
designed, each cottage has been built
bio-sustainably, without the use of
synthetics or chemicals. Through the
use of all natural materials in every
cottage, and carefully researched positioning,
the cottages blend perfectly with the
magnificent surrounds.
Each
cottage's outlook of the continually
changing scene of the sea, combined
with the facilities available and the
historical Piermont homestead, sets
Piermont in a class of its own.
How have we
achieved this?
- The
property of 240ha consists of an elongated stretch along the shoreline.
It is bordered on one side by a creek and is surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
- A
natural mould in the landscape lent itself for the construction of an amphitheatre
that is sometimes used for entertainment but otherwise serves as a beautiful landmark. The
cottages are scattered around the amphitheatre, leaving the bigger part of the property for wandering
guests and wildlife.
- The
cottages are located on neutral magnetic earth fields to maximize rest.
- Each
cottage is built from natural materials: such as solid stone walls,
timber floors, sheep wool insulation and slate roofing.
- Natural
sealant on timber floors and benches were chosen to avoid toxin
emissions.
- The
walls are lime-washed rather than painted with oil or acrylic-based
paint.
- During
construction, the utmost care was taken to minimize impact on the
environment.
