DAY ADELAIDE TO ALICE SPRINGS
Discover the vast Outback of South Australia, learn about Aboriginal culture, travel through unique and breathtaking scenery and experience life on an Outback Station.
Day One
Depart Adelaide at 8am for Wilpena Resort via Port Augusta where we visit Wadlata Outback Centre. After lunch we head towards Wilpena via Quorn and Hawker. Visit Kanyaka Ruins and Yourambulla Caves. Overnight Wilpena Resort.
Day Two
After breakfast we have a peaceful bushwalk to Wangarra Lookout. We also visit Sacred Canyon and Brachina Gorge. Lunch at Prairie Hotel, Parachilna. Blinman is our next stop via Parachilna Gorge. Overnight Wilpena Resort.
Day Three
Today we travel the Moralana Scenic Route with views of Elder Range and Wilpena Pound. Morning tea at Prairie Hotel. Our next stop is Iga Warta where we spend some time learning about Aboriginal culture and environment. Overnight camp Iga Warta.
Day Four
Today we travel to William Creek via the Oodnadatta Track. Our first stop is Lyndhurst where we visit the Ochre Cliffs. We stop for lunch at Marree and then we visit Bubbler Springs, Blanche Cup Springs and Coward Springs. Overnight William Creek Hotel.
Day Five
Today we head to Coober Pedy in the heart of South Australia's vast outback; it is an opal wonderland. We spend some time visiting mines and interpretive centres which offer a great insight to the town and its mining operations.
There are more than 30 opal shops in Coober Pedy if you like to purchase some opal. The town takes its name from the Aboriginal word Kupa (uninitiated man or white man) and Piti (hole) We also visit the Breakaway's Reserve and Moon Plain. We spend tonight in an underground motel.
Day Six
Today we head to Uluru/Ayers Rock via the Explorer Highway passing through Kulgera and Erldunda. From Erldunda we join the Lassetter Highway to Uluru/Kata Tjuta National Park arriving in time to see the magical sunset. Overnight camp Yalara.
Day Seven and Day Eight:
We spend at Uluru/Kata Tjuta National Park. This gives us plenty of time to appreciate the Aboriginal culture and environment on a two hour tour with an Aboriginal Guide. Optional tours can include a Harley Davidson Motorcycle tour of Uluru/Ayers Rock or Helicopter flight over Uluru/Ayers Rock. Two nights camping at Yalara.
Day Nine
After breakfast we head to Kings Canyon. Here a breathtaking walk around the rim of the Canyon allows you to gaze down in awe at the sandstone chasm or we can venture down into the chasm and discover luxuriant Cicadas around the permanent waterhole in the exotic Garden of Eden.
We can also discover traditional and contemporary Aboriginal culture with Lilla Aboriginal Tours on a journey through an area of sacred caves and paintings, learn about traditional medicine and bush tucker and try your hand at spear and boomerang throwing. Overnight Kings Creek Station.
Day Ten
We travel to Alice Springs via the Explorer Highway. Arrive at your accommodation in Alice Springs at approximately 6.00pm. Return trip to Adelaide (2 days) is also available at a minimal extra cost.

Minimum of one weeks notice required for bookings. Return two day tour to Adelaide is available at extra cost. All other optional tours at own expense.
