We travel north from Adelaide up the Oodnadatta Track, passing the vast expanse of Lake Eyre to sample the delights of Dalhousie Hot Springs on the edge of the Simpson Desert. We then travel up through the geographical centre of Australia and west to Uluru (Ayers Rock) the world’s largest monolith. Exploring the Rock and walking through Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) you may gain an insight into these mysterious rock formations, and marvel at the wildlife that exists in such harsh terrain.
Newhaven Station, the latest reserve acquired by Birds Australia, is home to some nationally threatened species of wildlife including the Night Parrot, the Princess Parrot, the Black-footed Rock- wallaby and the Marsupial Mole.
