12 Day Coopers Creek & Lakes Of S.W. Queensland Safari |

DAY 1 Depart Adelaide approx 8am travelling via Melrose, arriving in Copley at approximately 4pm. DAY 2 Continue up the Western side of the Flinders Ranges to Lyndhurst then along the Strezlecki track to camp the night at Montecollina hot bore. (chance of a swim). DAY 3 We pass the Moomba Gas fields and process plant and on to Coopers Creek to camp the next 2 nights 20km West of Innamincka. DAY 4 A day walk along the banks of the Cooper cutting back across the sandhills or alternatively fishing and relaxing. DAY 5 Returning to Innamincka we travel 106km Northwest to Coongie Lakes for another 2 night camp. DAY 6 Walks around the Lakes observing the evidence of ancient aboriginal campsites.
DAY 8 To Thargomindah and South to Currawinya National Park for a 2 night camp at an artesian bore fed lake. DAY 9 Walks around Lake Numalla and the bird attracting Lake Wyara. DAY 10 Travel to Hungerford and follow the Paroo River to Wanaaring, then White Cliffs opal town. The nights camp is at Wilcannia. DAY 11 We follow the Darling River to Menindie and on to camp the night on the river bank at Pooncarie. DAY 12 Return to Adelaide via Wentworth and the Riverland arriving approximately 4.45pm. |

could best be described as a
desert oasis. 
DAY
7 To Innamincka again, visiting the sight of Bourke’s grave
and crossing into S.W. Qld to view the “dig tree”. Camp at a
waterhole near Noccundra.
