Shingley Beach Resort is located at the end of a dead-end culdesac on Shingley Beach, approximately 5 minutes drive from
central Airlie Beach. It is one of only three beach resorts on the mainland with true waterfront access. A coastal walkway provides
access to Abel Point Marina and Village (5 mins), Cannonvale shops (10 mins), and Airlie Beach Lagoon (15 mins) without ever
having to cross a road! Ideal for families wanting to wear out their kids!
Shingley Beach Resort is one of the closest accommodation houses to Abel Point (Airlie Beach's only marina development). It's
a leisurely five minute stroll to shops, restaurants and hundreds of boat trips that leave daily for the islands and the reef from Airlie
Beach. No car-parking problems, no expensive cab fares, no waiting for buses .....no worries!
Unlike Airlie Beach (which dries out to mud at low tide), Shingley Beach is an all-tide beach with few surrounding mangrove areas
which means you can enjoy the view from the resort without being eaten alive by mosquitoes and sandflies.
Deep-water access adjacent to the beach (via a 400m long rocky promontory) and plenty of live bait ensures the fishing is great
(just ask the locals - it's one of the favourite fishing spots in the area - mackerel, trevalley, whiting, barramundi and cod are all
commonly caught!).
Parklands opposite the beach provide shaded picnic tables, toilets, a boat ramp and a fish cleaning area.
