Hayman Island is 400 hectares (960 acres) in area and 8km (5 miles) in circumference. Its tallest peak stands 250 metres (820 feet) above sea level and a thick covering of native eucalypts gives the island a uniquely Australian appearance. Hayman Resort is situated around a crescent-shaped white sand bay on the south western side of Hayman Island and is the only facility on the island. Hayman Island is 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) at its longest and 3 kilometres (1.9 miles) at its widest. Hayman is the most northerly island of the Whitsunday Passage and is in close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and commands views south through the fabled Whitsunday Passage. This deluxe international resort is contained within an area of 13 hectares (31 acres) situated on two white sand beaches on the southern side of the island around a beach lagoon.   ACCESSDaily flights on Ansett Australia into Hamilton Airport - the gateway to Hayman, from all major eastern capital cities.
