British Defender (BD) is a high tech Whitbread Around World Racing Maxi. BD was raced by the British armed services in the 1990 Around World Race.
* Winner of the 2001 & 2004 Whitsunday Fun Race * British Defender, designed by Martin Francis, and built in England, is a sloop design, 83ft in length, 20ft wide, built of high tech Carbon Fibre with a mast extending 115ft above the deck.
Between Jan 2001 and Aug 2001 British Defender had a brand new interior fitted for Whitsunday Sailing Tours.
The boat is open plan downstairs, some of the many features include headroom throughout higher than 6ft, 2 dining tables, 3 toilets and showers.
On deck the boat is really wide, so there's space to chill out, plus we have a shade awning built into the boom.
One thing's for sure….
The thoroughbred racing background will ensure a sailing tour aboard British Defender will be an exciting experience. Awesome Maxi with new charter customised layout built in 2001.
