Once on Magnetic - How to get to Magnetic Island Tropical Resort

From Monday 1st September 2003, all passenger ferries will arrive at Magnetic Harbour in Nelly Bay. Inquire at the Magnetic Island Kiosk inside the ferry terminal buiding for the best way to get to Magnetic Island Tropical Resort, which will depend on what time of the day you arrive on the island.

If you are bringing your own car aboard the Magnetic Island Car & Passenger Ferry once of the ferry turn left onto Marine Parade and head towards Nelly Bay. Once you reach Nelly Bay keep your eye out for a small shopping centre on your left. Once past the shopping centre take the second street on your right, Yates Street and we're there on the left set on eight acres backing on to pristine National Park.

SunFerries Magnetic Island Passenger Ferries Passenger Wharf

From 1st September 2003 Sunferries will offer up to 15 return trips per day to Magnetic Harbour in Nelly Bay. Sunferries departs from the BREAKWATER TERMINAL close to the Sheraton Casino on Sir Leslie Theiss Drive, Townsville. It is approximately a ten minute taxi ride from the airport.

You can explore this beautiful island in your own car, at your own pace, (your return ticket is valid for six months) without the nuisance of baggage to carry or the added cost of Island transport. The comfortable passenger areas of our new vessel have made it possible for us to offer a new "no vehicle" passenger return fare for those travellers without their own vehicle. Riverside's new car park on Ross Street, Townsville allows for increased parking to accommodate passengers who choose to be walk on passengers to Magnetic Island.
