Whilst the Sunshine Coast has been
affectionately adopted by Brisbane
as its favoured seaside resort
area, there has been a big
increase in the number of visitors
from regional Queensland,
interstate and also
overseas.
It is still the beautiful
waters of the blue Pacific which
attract our guests, as they fly in
to the Sunshine Coast airport; or
arrive by fast electric rail to
one of the hinterland railway
stations which border the Sunshine
Coast; or by car along the four
lane Bruce Highway.
The region boasts a host
of cultural events from concerts
to plays, a range of cinemas and
art galleries. Then, there’s
sport: from championship bowls
carnivals to international golfing
events, surf carnivals, boating
and triathlons. After an action packed day, it’s
time to seek out a restaurant.
It’s decision time. Will the venue
be on the coast, or at a marina,
down by the riverside, or perhaps
in the hinterland?
The Sunshine Coast provides it
all. Wining, dining, fun,
recreation.., all the natural
beauty of beaches, rainforests,
rivers and lakes plus those
wonderful family orientated themed
attractions such as The Big
Pineapple, Nostalgia Town, The
Ginger Factory, Underwater World,
the Super Bee through to the
Ettamogah Pub.
A two night stay or three weeks -
this is the place at which
memories are made, so please
enjoy.
The hinterland is also a wonderful
drawcard. One’s travel itinerary
can include beaches or mountains
by day; restaurants and nightlife
after the sun goes down; and the
next day... well, there are walks
through the national parks,
cruising one of the rivers, or
taking to adventure. The latter
includes deep sea fishing,
surfing, abseiling, parasailing -
there’s even some excellent 4WD
country awaiting the intrepid
explorer.
