|
|
Mt Tamborine - Wander through the amazing Rain Forests of Tamborine Mountain, as we search for cascading waterfalls and crystal clear running mountain streams. See the amazing strangler figs and Giant Flooded Fums in this awesome rainforest setting. Piccabeen palm groves and strangler figs feature in the Tamborine National Park. Learn about the rain forest and it's former Aboriginal ancestors, the way they worked together and lived in harmony with the land. The Park is home to many animals including the rare Albert's Lyrebird and one of the world's largest skinks (lizard) the land mullet. Spot a scrub turkey at work as they rake the forest floow to build their nest. Lamington National Park is where you can hand feed the colourful birds of the wild, walk along a tree top board walk in the canopy of the rainforest, and enjoy the pleasant surroundings of this mountain top retreat. Ancient rainforest relics such as the Giant Strangler fig are found throughout the forest, along with most of the world's warm temperate rainforest and nearly all of the Antarctic beech cool temperate rainforest. Lamington is a World Heritage Listed Area, and includes the most extensive area of subtropical rainforest in the world. Observe the ever so lovable Paddymelon, a small Rainforest dwelling Wallaby about 30cm high. Hand feed the Rainbow Lorikeets and see the striking colours of the Regent Bower Bird. Enjoy the 4WD mountain adventure as we traverse rough 4WD only terrain up the side of a mountain. See spectacular scenery and brave creek crossings, in our go-anywhere 4WD buses. 1 Day Itinerary Our Mt Tamborine & O'Reilly’s Rainforest 1-Day 4WD Safari is perfect for those who are based on the Gold Coast or Brisbane looking for a great day out.
