The Permit must be fixed to your windscreen prior to entry.
Camping Permit
$4.50 per person per night
$18.00 per family (2A+2C)
If you stay at commercial accommodation on Fraser Island
the camping permit does not apply.
BARGE
DEPARTURE
If you are hiring a 4WD from Hervey Bay you will need to be at the 4WD rental company 2 hours before the barge departure time. This is because it take a while to complete the contract and change over vehicles. It is also compulsory to view a short video on Fraser Island prior to rental and it takes approx 20 minutes to get from Hervey Bay to River Heads.
In addition, you have to be at River Heads 15 minutes prior to departure to allow time to load the vehicles.
