Raging Thunder Adventures are the pioneers of rafting in Queensland, Australia! Commencing operations in 1984, we continue to raft the Mighty Tully River, regarded as the best rafting river across Australia and New Zealand.

Begin your day with collection from your Cairns, Northern Beaches or Mission Beach accommodation and travel south to the spectacular surroundings that await you.

The Tully River is situated in stunning World Heritage Listed rainforest and offers an awesome day out rafting grade 3-4 rapids over 5 hours.

Enjoy a well earned barbeque lunch alongside the river bank.

Expect the need to hold on at times on these moderate technical rapids, however no experience is necessary, most of your fellow rafters will never have rafted before.

Rescue 3 Australia is licenced by Rescue 3 International to conduct Swiftwater Rescue Training Courses in Australia and the Asia Pacific Rim count des. Raging Thunder trains our guides to this standard.

River Grading System

Grade 1 Simple easy rapids
Grade 2 Simple technical rapids with need to manoeuvre raft
Grade 3 Moderate rapids with need to hold on at times and maintain control of rafts
Grade 4 Moderate technical rapids - as for grade 3 with continuous need to manoeuvre rafts. Exciting rafting
Grade 5 Heavy, difficult rapids. Very exciting rafting, essential to maintain control. Steep gradient
