After a 4 or 5 day course you will receive certification
which is an internationally recognised Divers License. Whatever your questions on diving, from the simple
to the most technically advanced, you can be sure of a helpful
answer from your friendly Down Under Instructor.

You’ll find right from the start on day one, that
learning to dive can be fun. Day one and two of our dive course will
get you into the swim of things at our own Diver Training Facility
in Cairns.
After the pool and theory training you’ll be ready to spend
some fun-filled days and nights diving the fabulous Outer Great
Barrier Reef. Out in the warm clear water of The Reef you’ll
experience the benefit of our Down Under Dive classroom
presentations and pool practice.
The
centre provides the latest dive equipment
and technology and offers expert instruction
by experience English, German and Japanese
dive instructors.
Course materials are
also available in German, French, Swedish,
Italian, Danish, Korean, Spanish and
Hebrew languages to cater for a multi-cultural
client base.
By being well trained in the
practical skills and safety procedures of diving by experienced
Instructors you’ll get so much more enjoyment out of your diving.

Advanced Open Water Dive Course
- Five training dives
- Extensive dive training briefings
- The course consists of 5 training dives
- Two core elements- Deep Dive and Navigation Dive
- A further 2 dives are required and normally involve either a Multi level Dive, Search and Recovery Dive and an Underwater Naturalist Dive
- There is also time between training dives for recreation dives and snorkelling
- Up to 10 dives total during a three day advanced course

PADI Rescue Diver Course
Rescue Course commencement dates on application.
The PADI Rescue Scuba Diver course is rewarding and fun.
This course will expand your knowledge and experience level: Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
What do I need to start?
- You can enrol in the Rescue Diver Course as a certified Advanced Open Water Diver.
- Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Scuba Diver Course)
- Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR and First Aid Course within the past 24 months. A First Aid Course is offered to fulfill this requirement. This is AUD$120 and includes all training material and registration.
What will I do?
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover: 
Self-rescue and diver stress
Emergency oxygen delivery systems
Dive first aid
Swimming and non-swimming rescue techniques
Emergency management and equipment
Panicked diver response
Underwater problems
Missing diver procedures
Surfacing the unconscious diver
In-water rescue breathing protocols
Egress (exits)
First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
Dive accident scenarios
