Snorkelling / Island Walks
Lady Musgrave Island welcomes you to one of the gems of Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
The island is a tropical paradise 14 ha (35 acres) in size - small enough to walk around it in 45 minutes. The climatic conditions vary little with 21 deg. C in winter to 30 deg. C in summer. A pisonia forest is a feature in the island's centre which plays host to a great variety of birds. Green and Loggerhead turtles nest on the island between the months of October and February. The hatchlings emerge 8 to 12 weeks later. Turtles are seen swimming in the lagoon all year round. At anytime of the day visitors can walk straight from the beach into the crystal clear water of a protected coral lagoon.
The lagoon of Lady Musgrave Island is unique to the Great Barrier Reef. It is formed by a huge - 8 nautical miles - circle of coral wall which protects the inner lagoon. Our fast catamaran, the MV Spirit of 1770, enters the calm waters of the lagoon through a channel in the reef wall and moors in clear shallow waters only 200 metres from Lady Musgrave Island. In this protected haven snorkellers of all age groups can explore the wonders of a living reef ecosystem - all in one great day!
Please bring

Island Camping
Although a National Park and World Heritage zone, we offer you the ultimate camping holiday experience. We organise your camping permit, bring you to Lady Musgrave Island, provide all the gear you need and pick you up at an agreed date. This is for the adventurous, a holiday as close to nature as it ever gets - an experience of a life time.
Your stay on Lady Musgrave Island requires a little organising and planning. While you will experience total freedom and being one with nature, you also have to be totally self-sufficient, with fresh water being one of the most important.
You might want an island holiday with just a tent, some water and food to last you for the period you want to stay or you might want to bring or hire a little boat with oars or an engine, a surfboard or scuba gear.
Reef Fishing
We take you to the outer reef wall and fringing reefs of Lady Musgrave Island lagoon which support a large variety of table fish such as coral trout, mackerel and red emperor. We provide all the fishing gear you need and clean your catch ready for you to cook when you come home.
With Lady Musgrave Cruises you can choose from two types of reef fishing trips:
Day fishing trips -
Day fishing trips are non-schedule trips which we make available by demand. As our skipper is at home in the waters of the Bunker Group of islands, he will bring you to the most exciting fishing spots, some of which are regarded as "secret of the trade". However, if you or your party wishes to go to a certain reef within the marine park zone B, we certainly can arrange this.

Outer Wall Reef Fishing
As part of our scheduled trips to Lady Musgrave Island, we have incorporated about 1 1/2 hours of reef fishing along the outer wall of the island's lagoon.
