Our Learn to dive courses start every Monday and Thursday mornings at 8am. Padi Open Water courses run over a period of four days. This will take you from beginner to Open Water Diver.

You are required to have your own copy of the PADI open water manual ($60) and a current dive medical ($55) which can be arranged on the first day of your course. This certification will allow you to hire dive equipment, and give you the freedom to dive anywhere in the world.

The open water course must be completed before you can take your adventure diver or advanced certification.

Modern classrooms with the latest training material make learning to dive easy and you will soon be taking you first breaths under water with your experienced PADI instructor who will soon put you at ease. Your PADI instructor has gone through one of the most rigorous instructor training programs and a 2-day exam. You will gain much experience from him as you progress through your course.

Bundaberg is the southernmost gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and has the best shore diving in Queensland. Here wonderful fringing reefs of hard and soft coral is right on the shore, Combine this with the ship wrecks and aeroplanes of the Cochrane Artificial Reef and Bundaberg is truly a divers paradise.

Choosing the 4-day learn to dive on the fringing reef of the Wongarra marine park will give you a worldwide-recognized, PADI open Water diver certification.

Course Cost and Required Materials
Before you commence your course, you are required to complete the reading of modules 1 to 3 of your manual and complete the knowledge reviews 1 to 3. This can be easily accomplished by arriving in the afternoon before your course starts.

You will be diving in the training pool on day two of your course, where you will be required to swim 200 metres and tread water or float for 10 minutes, so please bring with you your swimming costume and a towel.

Medical
Australian law requires you to have a Dive Medical to learn to dive. We can arrange a dive medical for you in Bundaberg prior to the start of your course. However if you suffer from Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma, and high blood pressure or had chest surgery you will most likely fail a dive medical.

SCHEDULE - 4 DAY COURSE SHORE BASED.

DAY ONE
Starting at 8am in the classroom you will watch the open water DVD and work through the knowledge development session there will be breaks for coffee and lunch

DAY TWO
Starting at 8am in the classroom you will finish the knowledge development and then of to the pool for the day at 9am

DAY THREE
Start at 8 am unless advised otherwise. We load up the dive gear and off to the ocean for two dives returning at about 1pm.

DAY FOUR
A repeat of day three schedule.

Note: Weather conditions are beyond our control and adverse weather could delay the final ocean dives.
