The
LARC
1770
Environmental Tours operates two Lighter
Amphibious Resupply Cargo (LARC) vessels
with a capacity of 32 passengers each.
These fascinating vessels, equally at
home on land or sea, were originally
built for military use - mainly for
transporting troops and equipment in
and around coastal areas.
Our
LARCs are named in honour of Sir Joseph
Banks and Dr. Daniel Carl Solander,
the two eminent botanists who accompanied
Lieutenant James Cook when he explored
the east coast of Australia in 1770.
Bustard
Head Light-station
In
2002, the Bustard Head Lighthouse Association,
a volunteer organisation, began resoring
the Heritage listed light-station. The
lightkeepers' cottages now offer exclusive,
weekly accommodation on the island light-station
for a maximum of 4 people, to experience
the solitude and magnificent beauty
of Bustard Head. The LARC now drives
guests right up to the Bustard Head
Light-station; enjoy the panoramic views
in armchair comfort.
