Today you travel North past the Glasshouse Mountains to the seaside town and coloured sands of Rainbow Beach (morning tea stop own cost). Look for Dolphins, Turtles and Dugong as you ferry cruise across bay to Fraser Island. 4WD Fraser Island’s 75 mile surf beach with an eye out for dingoes, sea eagle and whale. Fresh Buffet Lunch at Eurong Beach Resort OR picnic lunch at rainforest or lakes.

Explore the world's largest Rainforest growing in Sand, and Eco Boardwalk along famous Wanggoolba Creek at Central Station. 2 DAY 4WD FRASER IS. ADVENTURE

DAY 1: Travel north past the Glasshouse Mountains to Noosa River Ferry and Cooloola Coast Beach (tides permitting). Arrive Rainbow Beach for early lunch (own cost) overlooking the coloured sands and surf. Ferry cruise to Fraser Island. 4WD Fraser Island’s Eastern Surf Beach to Lake Wabby, and famous Sand Dune – Swim, Hike, Turtle watch. Return to Fraser Beach resort and relax at pool, spa or afternoon beach walk. Walk along 75 Mile Beach, stargaze, relax or hit the night scene.

DAY 2: A drive through Fraser’s magical rainforest before a relaxing morning at Lake McKenzie. Swim, snorkel and photograph this unique lake. In the cool of the rainforest take the boardwalk at Central Station. Enjoy a fresh picnic lunch, cold drinks and tropical fruits, before seeing the rare giant King Fern, world heritage satinay forest, and crystal clear waters of Wanggoolba Creek and Central Station OR 4WD to Eli Creek, Cathedral Beach and Indian Head (tides permitting). Out of the rainforest to Lake Jennings, Lake Birrabeen around the corner, swim or relax overlooking the lake. Birrabeen has the whitest sand, the clearest water – a true window lake. From here travel past Lake Benaroon to Lake Boomanjin – the red lake and largest perched lake in the world. Return to 75 Mile Beach – 4WD to Rainbow Beach and on to Noosa and Brisbane (itinerary subject to tides).

3 DAY KINGFISHER BAY ECO RESORT - Guided Safari of Fraser Island

Explore the World Heritage wilderness of Fraser Island with an experienced guide. Walk through towering rainforest growing in sand. Discover huge sandblows moving across the island. Swim in beautiful fresh water lakes, wade in fast flowing creeks, drive along the world's most beautiful beach highway and marvel at coloured sand formations.

Day 1
Drive from Brisbane through Noosa to Rainbow Beach, via the Noosa River cable ferry, Teewah Beach, the wreck of the Cherry Venture and the Cooloola Coloured Sands, or, when the tide is high, through the Cooloola National Park. From Rainbow Beach to Inskip Point, the 4WD coach takes the vehicle barge to Fraser Island and drives along the beach, then through beautiful eucalypt forest to Lake McKenzie. Swim in the clear blue waters and soak up the sun on the white sandy beaches. Then travel on to Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village to check into your Wilderness Lodge, or luxury eco-hotel room.

Day 2
Enjoy hot country style breakfast before departing the resort for a 4WD day tour. Explore Lake Wabby, an impressive emerald green barrage lake being slowly engulfed by Hammerstone Sandblow. Then drive along the world's most amazing highway, Seventy-Five Mile Beach. Visit the magnificent "Valley of the Giants" with your special guide. Majestic satinays and brushbox tower over an understory of palms and rainforest plants. Certainly the most impressive forest on sand anywhere in the world. After a fresh picnic lunch, see the coloured sand formations at the Pinnacles and the famous Maheno shipwreck. Then swim in the fast flowing, clear, fresh water of Eli Creek.

Day 3
Time to explore and enjoy Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village. Relax by the swimming pools, spa and outdoor bars - or discover the splendour of the garden decks, boardwalks, coffee and specialty shops in this award winning eco resort. Adventurous? - perhaps keep to the nature theme of Kingfisher Bay by exploring the Great Sandy Strait beaches or bushwalking on self-guided tracks to the Lookout. Other activites include bird watching, sailing, fishing and canoeing. Return to Noosa and Brisbane via the Kingfisher Bay Ferry or return directly to Hervey Bay. (Tides and ferry times permitting)

FRASER ISLAND 5-DAY SAND ISLAND 4WD and WALKING ADVENTURE

Sunrover invites you to explore the world's largest Sand Island. The 5 day camping safari will guide you through Fraser Island's unique ecosystems. Daily trips by 4 wheel drive support the most extensive walking tour on Fraser Island. Visit 'off the beaten path' wilderness habitats, or simply relax. While on the island, you can cast your line into the surf or swim in tranquil fresh water lakes, relax and stroll on moon-lit beaches, explore the vast desert-like sand blows, and snorkel with tropical fish.

Day 1
Depart Brisbane, and travel north on the Bruce Highway via the Sunshine Coast and Noosa. Travelling north along the Cooloola Coast, witness the wonder of Red Gorge and the Cooloola Coloured Sands, before seeing the 'Cherry Venture' shipwreck at Double Island Point. At Rainbow Beach, refresh with lunch and a swim, before crossing over by barge to Fraser Island. Travel along Fraser's majestic Ocean Beach to Govi Creek and Dilli Beach - to set up camp in the forest. Relax and enjoy the afternoon serenity, or take a walk on the deserted beach. BBQ fish for tea, and your first night outdoors on Fraser Island.

Day 2
Start the day with a healthy breakfast before walking to Lake Boomanjin (the worlds largest perched lake) and then 4WD to Lake Birrabeen. Enjoy the natural surrounds of the lake, or take a swim to prepare for the beauty of Central Station Rainforest. Be guided through this unique ecosystem and learn about the natural wildlife of the rainforest. Move on to Lake McKenzie for lunch, and relax, swim or snorkel. Be amazed by the green lake - Lake Wabby - surrounded by a Sand Blow. Back at camp, you can photograph unique sand wildflowers, or relax in the cool waters of Lake Boomanjin.

Day 3
Time for further explorations. The first stop is at Eli Creek, the largest and fastest flowing creek on the East Coast. Continue on to the wreck of the 'Maheno' ... and then through the rainforest, to see the tortoises at Lake Allom. The drive along the beach, features the high coloured cliffs of the Cathedrals. Explore Dundubara campsite or hike to Wungal Sandblow. Throughout the afternoon, enjoy beach fishing or a swim in the ocean, before dinner around the campfire.

Day 4
Experience the adventure of Indian Head, and gaze over the beach to the south, the headlands to the north, and see the turtles, sharks and rays below, and even Humpback whales (when in season). Swim and snorkel in the Champagne Pools, before venturing further north to Waddy Point and Ocean Lake.

Day 5
Regretfully, it is time to pack up and return to civilisation. Before leaving, cast a line into the surf, or hike to the coastal cliffs to watch the sun rise, or take a stroll along the beach. Then the final run down the rugged Fraser coastline, before returning to the barge and the waiting mainland. Arrival on Saturday at the Brisbane Transit Centre depends on the tide times.
