At Longitude 131°, guests take
the road less travelled and share unique experiences with only a few others.
Our touring program has been developed with the aim of sharing an authentic
experience that will allow each guest a chance to immerse themselves in the
mystery and spirituality of this remarkable desert region.
Longitude 131° touring
experiences are not regimented or strictly set. They are designed to take
advantage of the moment. An array of tours exploring Uluru, Kata Tjuta
and environs are included in the Longitude 131° experience.
The Botanical Walk will take
guest through a variety of desert landscapes - dune country, spinifex
country, mulga woodlands and desert oak communities. Guests will experience
first hand native habitats, flora and fauna, bush food and bush medicine
located in the area while they smell, touch and taste their surroundings.
On the Songlines Sunset tour,
guests spend an afternoon in the World Heritage Uluru- Kata Tjuta
National Park learning about world wide cultural relationships with
spirituality, life, land, and the relationship to modern life, before
visiting the Cultural Centre where aboriginal people express their law and
traditions through story, art, craft, song and interpretive displays. Guests
will then return to the Dune House to experience sunset while enjoying drinks
and canapés under the spectacular southern night skies.
For a completely new way of
experiencing the sunsets for which Central Australia is so famous, the core
touring program at Longitude 131° offers the Uluru 'In Gorge'
Dramatic Sunset tour. On this tour guests move to a quiet gorge at the base
of the great monolith for a very personal, very dramatic view of sunset from
'within' Uluru. During sunset, Uluru changes dramatically and
the size and scale of the formation is best gauged from a close up
perspective.
On the captivating tour to
Cave Hill you will travel 2 ˝ hours from Ayers Rock Resort in a custom built
luxury 4WD, through the Central Australian desert and across the border into
South Australia. This unique journey will introduce you to an ancient chapter
of the Seven Sisters creation story and is the result of a unique joint
venture undertaking between Voyages Hotels & Resorts, Odyssey Tours &
Safaris and Aboriginal owned Desert Tracks.
Another spectacular tour in
the core program is the Kata Tjuta Sunrise tour where guests watch the
sunrise from a special location before commencing the famous Valley of the
Winds walk through the majestic domes and unparalleled scenery of Kata Tjuta.
