Please note: Our Unleashed safaris are the extreme side of Adventure Tours and are for YOUNG, FIT &
ACTIVE PEOPLE with good
swimming ability only.
The tours include strenuous hikes and basic bush camping (sleeping in swags under the stars with no tents) often in
remote locations, so we can get away from the crowds where possible. Our Red Centre tour operates from APR to NOV.
Day 1:
Darwin to Mary River &
Kakadu National Park
We travel to the pristine Mary River Wetlands,
home to the largest concentration of salt-water
crocodiles in the Southern Hemisphere, to enjoy a croc and
wildlife cruise, then 4WD along the Old Darwin Road stopping at
the huge termite mounds and scenic White Lily Billabong. After
lunch, we continue through more beautiful wetland areas to
Barramundi Gorge (Maguk), where we do some hiking and enjoy
a swim in the plunge pools. We
enjoy the sensational tropical sunset before heading for our
overnight bush camp in Kakadu. (LD)

Day 2:
Kakadu National Park
An early start as we head to Twin Falls - swimming up the
beautiful gorge to the cascading waterfall where you can relax
on the sandy bank. Then we travel to the awesome Jim Jim Falls,
deep within striking escarpment country and tackle the challenging
climb to the top of the falls enjoying fantastic views over
Kakadu. We continue on to our overnight bush camp in Kakadu
for a well earned night’s sleep! (BLD)
Day 3:
Kakadu to Darwin
This morning we walk to Nungulawar art site before heading to Ubirr an area rich in Aboriginal history, to check out the awesome
vistas of the surrounding country. Here we learn about ancient
rock art depicting Dreamtime beliefs dating back over 20,000
years. We call in at beautiful Annaburoo Billabong for one last
swim before returning to Darwin, enjoying the impressive scenery
along the way. (BL)
