Join a day of 4WD adventure as we head
West from Alice Springs through Owen Springs Cattle Station to explore the Finke Gorge National Park. This area known as Palm Valley contains some very rare and endangered
living fossils. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along Palm Creek
absorbing the ambience of this desert oasis.
A more vigorous option is a climb to the
top of the valley walls. Cycad Gorge offers an
impressive cliff display of these rare plants, which only grow along the
northern and western walls of the gorge. Kalarranga
Lookout affords an impressive view of the Amphitheatre, a site of significance for the local
Aranda Tribe.
Hermannsburg is our next stop, time to explore this
historical mission and stroll amongst the buildings in awe at the achievements
in a hostile environment. Tour the gallery of the famous water colour artists of Hermannsburg. View the works of
the father of this watercolour art style Albert
Namatjira. Purchase genuine works of art and artifacts of the sons
and daughters of Hermannsburg. Returning to Alice Springs late
afternoon.
