Welcome
to Australia's land of contrasts - The Northern
Territory
The
Northern Territory is truly a land of contrasts
- from the beautiful arid centre, home to Ayres
Rock to the tropical wildlife rich Kakadu and Litchfield
Parks.
The
"Territory" as it is affectionately
known
is a vibrant place, full of excitement and the wonders
of nature.
It
is an ancient, expansive land full of aboriginal
history - it will test your senses and sometimes
take your breath away. Internationally recognised, the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park is one of the Nation's most prized cultural and ecological treasures.
It is situated a little over 3 hours from Darwin
and
considered
a "must see" when you visit the Northern
Territory. Just south of Darwin is situated Litchfield
National Park.
Whilst much smaller than Kakadu it is still very
impressive, is easily accessable and has a
number of waterfalls and interesting features.
At
the lower end of the Northern Territory you can
experience the truly remarkable Red Centre with
Uluru
(or Ayers
Rock)
and Kings
Canyon.
You will be taken back in time when you visit
this most ancient of lands. Why not sip champagne
and watch the sun set on Ayers Rock prior to a
Sounds
of Silence Dinner
under
the stars of the desert.
The Northern Territory is famous for its colourful characters
and relaxed lifestyle. You'll be struck by the spirit of the people
and how they relate to this ancient environment.
Dont let the rugged vast open spaces deter you -
you can travel in luxury transport of all types
and at the end of the day you can relax in style.
The
age of the resident population of the Territory
is young in comparison to the rest of Australia
and this adds to the energetic feel of the place
- join in the fun!
Your
trip to the Northern Territory will be one you will
never forget.
