3 DAY DIVE TO ADVENTURE

The Great Barrier Reef is a natural wonder of the world and is a declared World Heritage site. It encompasses 350,000 sq kilometres of the South Pacific Ocean and is made up of 2,900 individual reefs and 71 coral cays. Its ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of life on this planet including 1500 species of fish, 350 different corals, 4,000 species of molluscs and 10,000 species of sponges.

Water temperature ranges from 22° to 28° Celsius (75° - 85° F) allowing comfortable diving all year round

For the certified diver or snorkeller our 3 day 2 night trip departs Cairns 6 times per week and offers up to 11 dives. Our fleet boasts 3 premium purpose built dive vessels, offering the best living on board conditions. We visit a large variety of our 16 exclusive sites which are spread over 4 different reefs over the trip duration. These sites have been selected for their extravagance of marine life and excellent visibility thus ensuring you see the best the outer Great Barrier Reef has to offer. Unlimited snorkelling is also available and all cabins are TWIN share.

ScubaPro 3

Scubapro I, II and III

Scubapro was purpose built and then launched in April 1998. Major specifications were that she could handle all varying weather conditions in the Tropical North and offer a smooth and comfortable ride. The formula was a huge success and in February 2002 a sister ship, Scubapro II, was launched. We are in the next phase of our expansion plan with our third liveaboard dive boat, Scubapro III, launched in April 2004.

All vessels feature 14 twin share cabins and 2 double cabins with private amenities for every 4 guests. Private cabins allow privacy and time to relax between diving and snorkelling. The vessels are centrally air-conditioned, light and airy. There are 2 large decks: one for gear and one strictly for sun tanning and relaxing.

Specifications and features of Scubapro I, II and III demonstrate that these boats also make excellent options for day or overnight charters.

DAY 1

Depart Cairns for 3-days 2-nights of fantastic diving/snorkelling on Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Your first dive before lunch is on "Petaj Bombie" at Milln Reef - this site is a perfect introduction to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, relaxed and varied. After a hearty lunch head off to discover more delights at "Petaj", once you have completed your dive the vessel moves on to the next site. After an afternoon of Snorkelling or relaxing it is time for the 3rd dive, on "Swimming Pools" with its lagoon like features, clear turquoise water, colourful corals and dazzling marine life. After dinner your first night dive is on, once again at "Swimming Pools", however the reef comes alive, keep a close eye out for our sleeping turtles, bright crustaceans and the occasional reef shark.

DAY 2

The vessel moves for an early morning dive. "Whale Bombie" a large coral pinnacle separate from the reef, rising from a depth of 22m breaking at the surface. Splendid Gorgonian Fans, Giant Clams and Bump Headed Parrot fish. After breakfast the vessel moves on to Flynn Reef, and your first dive here is on "Tracy's Bombie", a peninsula jutting out from the Northern end of the reef. "Tracy's" is a very navigable wall dive with sharks resting on the ocean floor, and walls enlivened with an abundance of marine life. Lunch on the second day is hot pasta with a variety of fresh salads. After lunch and a snorkel it's time to explore the endless intriguing coral mazes of "Gordons Mooring", excellent visibility, a photographic haven which ends at "Clown Fish City"
A hot dinner is served before your second night dive, at "Gordons Mooring". At night the mazes close into amazing tunnels that change at every bend. Look out for Brian the turtle, who loves sleeping under the coral ledges in the sand.

DAY 3

The vessel is now moored at "Coral Gardens", a different wall dive with intricate corals climbing the walls, large pelagic fish and schooling Sweet lip endlessly gliding by. After breakfast the vessel makes its last move on to either Thetford or Pellowe Reefs, Thetford is renowned for many outlying coral bommies, swim throughs and large fish life. Pellowe, for it's exclusiveness, featuring pristine corals, abundance and diversity of marine life. On your last dive you re-enter at one of the above sites, your Dive Master is able to direct you in a different direction, where the sights are totally different from the last dive. When you surface freshly made sandwiches are served as the vessel heads home for Cairns. Complimentary accommodation transfers - Cairns and Northern Beaches.Join fellow passengers and crew at a local restaurant for a farewell dinner if you wish
