Pinetrees is the perfect base for enjoying all that Lord Howe has to offer.
We have a tennis court, a small library, bicycles and a billiard room. The lagoon beach is just across the road for your early
morning swim in crystal clear water. Our Boatshed is right on the lagoon in front of Pinetrees and is a great place for a cool
drink as the sun sets. There is also a shower and toilet for guest use.
For walkers there are clearly marked tracks through rainforest or to the tops of hills with breathtaking views. Island guides
will lead more energetic climbers to the top of Mt Gower (875 m high).
Scenic flights can be arranged to give you a different perspective or you can fly further afield to see the majestic Balls Pyramid.
You can have days out on fishing boats, cruise around the island and visit smaller off-shore islands crammed with nesting birds.
Take a glass-bottom boat trip to see the most southerly coral reef in the world or go skin-diving in Lord Howe's magical
underwater environment. Or simply lose yourself exploring the bays and beaches along the deserted foreshores.
No matter how you choose to spend your day Pinetrees will pack your lunch, a cold picnic style or a true Australian barbeque,
so that you can spend all day at your favourite spot birdwatching, fishing, snorkelling or just plain relaxing in the sun.
Pinetrees is the perfect holiday destination. Be as active as you like or just relax by yourself and then meet up again with
friends for dinner.
What dinners they are! Pinetrees professional chefs prepare superb meals from breakfast to dinner, all included in the tariff.
There is fresh fruit, homemade bread and the best fish you ever tasted... caught that day of course. There are locally grown
vegetables and tempting desserts.
In the dining room we uncork the wine and serve romantic candle lit meals looking out to the floodlit Kentia palms where the
woodhens often scratch around and show off their chicks.
The original family homestead built in 1884 still stands as part of the lounge, billiard room, bar and dining room central
complex. Around it is a wide covered verandah where guests gather for lunch, afternoon teas, drinks and occasional buffet
dinners.
We can comfortably cater for groups or small conferences for up to 30 people. All the buildings are single storey set around
the landscaped grounds and blend in beautifully with the palms, the pine trees and the tropical hibiscus and frangipanis.
