Gone Walkabout Safaris are environmentally friendly, nature-based, active adventure tours, totally committed to you and to our planet.

Gone Walkabout Safaris specialise in small groups of adventurous travellers who want to experience “a bit of everything”. We offer an extensive selection of activities in a range of beautiful environments.

Gone Walkabout Safaris was created out of passion. A passion for Australia, a passion for the environment and a passion for fun and adventure. We want to share this passion with you.

Gone Walkabout Safaris cater to all individual and special needs!

The Safaris visit beautiful, pristine environments and we want to keep it that way. Gone Walkabout Safaris are totally committed to the environment.

Gone Walkabout Safaris are carbon neutral due to a policy of contributing to the planting and care of native trees. This is to neutralize the effects of carbon-based gases we create due to fuel consumption. In fact, the fuel Gone Walkabout Safaris use is made from used and recycled vegetable oils, called BIODIESEL. This is a cleaner burning fuel and has less harmful emissions than regular diesel. It is also an effective way of disposing of oils that could end up contaminating the environment.

All cleaning products and detergents used are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
In fact the use of these is minimised by using new technology microfibre cloths which require little or no detergent.

Gone Walkabout Safaris' policy is to “Leave no trace, no rubbish and take a bit of existing litter with us, that is we leave a campsite 110 % better than we found it.” Gone Walkabout Safaris use cloth bags and bags made from cornstarch in order to minimise the use of plastic bags. All rubbish, recycling and storage is kept in secure bins with lids. All food waste is composted and returned to gardens.

Walkabout is an Australian English word originally referring to the belief of non-indigenous Australians that Aboriginies were prone to "go walkabout" - a pidgin expression meaning that they would stop doing their jobs and wander through the bush for weeks at a time. This was a time of reflection and a chance to connect with nature and to rediscover one’s self.
