Day 1: Perth to Margaret River Wine RegionAs we travel south towards the Margaret River Wine Region, experience an Australian sheep dog and shearing demonstration at the Yallingup Shearing Shed. Following lunch, visit the chocolate and cheese factories (time permitting) to taste some of their delicious samples and then sample some of the delicious locally produced wines. Day 2: Margaret River Wine Region to PembertonEnjoy some free time in the township of Margaret River before heading out to Surfers Point Lookout to see some spectacular coastal views. At Mammoth Cave we take a guided tour then head further south through the stunning Boranup Forest. We arrive at Australia?s most south-westerly point, Augusta, and visit Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. You?ll have the opportunity to climb the 61 metre Gloucester Tree followed by a visit to the Fine Woodcraft Gallery; one of Western Australia?s most awarded regional galleries. Day 3: Pemberton to AlbanyTake a short stroll to the majestic Beedelup Falls and then travel south to the coastal resort town of Walpole. Here we join our local guide for a luncheon cruise on the Nornalup Inlet, widely regarded as one of the last great wilderness areas. Next stop is the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk which reaches 40 metres high into the forest Canopy. Afterwards head to the Albany region and enjoy coastal sightseeing, visiting The Gap and Natural Bridge. (BLD) Accommodation: Ace Motor Inn Albany or similar.
Day 4: Albany to Wave Rock to PerthWe start the day at the Stirling Ranges for sightseeing at the base of Bluff Knoll and then travel north-east through extensive farmlands and the southern wheat belt to the small town of Hyden. After lunch at the Hyden Wildflower Shop, we take a short walk to the impressive rock formation, Wave Rock. Then relax as we take the leisurely drive through picturesque wheat belt country back to Perth. (BL)
