Pinnacle Tours 1 Day 4WD Windjana Gorge, Gibb River Road & Aboriginal Art

A 1 day 4WD adventure visiting Tunnel Creek, Windjana Gorge, The Gibb River Rd and viewing Aboriginal Art.

Day 1:? Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Creek (L)

We set off on our journey heading north to Willare Bridge, we cross the mighty Fitzroy River and make a morning tea break at one of the Kimberley's most famous landmarks the Prison Boab Tree, once used to house convicts. Whilst here we also view Myalls Bore; a 120 metre long trough built in the early 1900's used to water up to 1,000 head of cattle at one time. We leave the coast and travel inland along the famous 'Gibb River Road', once used as the main stock route for the region, before turning off to the pre-historic Windjana Gorge, regarded as one of the classic features of world geology and a great freshwater crocodile spotting site.

From here we head to Tunnel Creek, an amazing 750 metre long flooded tube tunnel. We take an exciting walk through the tunnel wading through knee to thigh high water and hear the story of Jandamarra. Following afternoon tea, we set off back to Broome with arrival approximately 10.30 pm after an en route dinner stop (own expense).

Aditional Booking Information:
Important: Accessing Tunnel Creek walk involves 20 metres of clambering over boulders and 700 metres of wading through knee to thigh high water (shorts are ideal). Strap on sandals or old sand shoes must be worn through the water to protect from the rocky creek bed. To safely navigate the Tunnel passengers must be able to walk and balance themselves independently on uneven ground. Flashlights and limited footwear is provided. This tour does not operate from 1 November to 1 May and is subject to road and weather conditions.
