Freycinet Peninsula projects eastward from the Tasmanian mainland and is devoted to a National Park.
It is a unique and exciting
wilderness containing a melting pot of natural habitats.
Craggy granite peaks thrust dramatically from the ocean, overlooking sandy white beaches and crystal blue water - a dramatic backdrop for an unusual variety of eco-systems ranging from wetlands through heathlands, coastal dunes, dry eucalypt forests to the underwater magic of these southern temperate oceans.
Freycinet Lodge has successfully integrated superb accommodation with the environment.
It has 60 tastefully appointed cabins thoughtfully located in a secluded bushland setting inside Freycinet National Park to work in harmony with the natural beauty of their surroundings. The national park is home to many native animals and birds and these can be seen in their natural surroundings close to the cabins.
And within close walking distance is the panoramic view of Wineglass Bay - voted one of the top ten beaches in the world!
Guest facilities at Freycinet Lodge include:
- laundry
- children's playground
- barbeque area
- tennis court

Richardson's Bistro takes its name from the adjoining beach, which sweeps in an arc around the waters of Coles Bay. Richardson's Bistro is open for breakfast and lunch and in peak season, for dinner as well. It offers casual dining at reasonable prices. Guests can enjoy the sounds of a busy open kitchen and the aroma of freshly prepared meals while they enjoy the view of waves breaking on Richardson's Beach.
Hazards Bar and Lounge is a great place to swap stories or read a book by the open wood fire in winter. Most evenings you can join a wine tasting group to meet fellow guests and sample some of Tasmania's best boutique wines and beers.
