The Penny Royal Motel was originally built in 1825 on the banks of the Isis River in the Tasmanian midlands.


In 1972 it was transported to its present site and reassembled stone by numbered stone and re-opened as the Penny Royal Motel.

The Penny Royal Apartments are set amidst one of Ausiralia’s most unique tourist attractions - Penny Royal World. A lake, waterfalls, gardens and views of the Tamar River provide an ideal central location for your visit to Launceston.

These apartments are a short walk from the Cataract Gorge and Cliff Grounds, and are ideally situated to discover the treats Launceston has to offer.

Penny Royal Motel exudes an old world charm with all modern, conveniences. The hotel suites have recently been fully refurbished and are well appointed, extremely comfortable and modern - while still retaining a unique heritage atmosphere.
