Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay is a rapidly expanding, vibrant city home to some of the best whale watching in the world, beautiful beaches, good value accommodation and the main departure point for World Heritage Fraser Island.




It has a vast array of features to enjoy including whale watching -late July to October. From Hervey Bay you can access World Heritage listed Fraser Island and enjoy the naturally beautiful rainforests, pristine lakes and wildlife on 1, 2, or 3 day 4WD tours of this largest sand island in the world.  You can also see the island by hiring a four wheel drive vehicle yourself and seeing this  natural wonder at you own pace.

Hervey Bay is also the departure point to Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef where you can do a day trip or stay longer at the resort right on the water.
