A 3 day self drive safari of Fraser Island.


Your Adventure begins at Koala Beach Resort. Hervey Bay, the best location from which to visit the largest sand island in the world!  

Situated on the beach and closest to all facilities, Koalas offers the perfect base for your Fraser Island adventure.  

Groups get together with the help of our friendly knowledgeable staff the day prior to departure.

Freedom Choose your own itinerary, taking time to experience the fresh waters of Lake McKenzie, the shipwrecked remains of the Maheno & the spectacular views from Indian Head.

Relax in the Champagne Pools or take a trek to the Hammerstone Sandblow.

Wilderness Abundant in native flora and fauna, see dingoes, goannas, dolphins and whales (August - October).

Explore the tropical rainforests of Central Station the coloured sands of the Cathedrals and at Lake Allom see fresh water turtles.

Excitement
Drive 4x4 along 75 mile beach explore the sand dunes and swim in Lake Wabby. Picnic at Lake Garawongera or float down Eli Creek.

Information
Trips consist of group of  8 or 9 people.
Groups are introduced at the Fraser Island meeting held at Koala Beach Resort, 3pm the day before departure.
Koala Resort staff take groups shopping for food and supplies and offer the best prices.
Those wishing to drive must be over 21 years and hold a current driver's license.
4x4 meeting is held at 6.30am the morning of departure. Experienced, qualified staff explain safety procedures for 4x4 beach driving.
Sleeping bags are available for hire from Koala Beach Resort.
Belongings you are taking ie, bathers, towel, camera, sunscreen are to be packed into a small day pack.
