Fraser Island - the word has a magical ring to it. Immediately we arrive at Kingfisher Bay Resort we board the 4x4 bus and experience our first roller-coaster ride over the sandy pathways. Our first stop is Pile Valley and a 30-minute stroll through a subtropical rainforest. It is nice and cool here and peaceful. After lunch it is time for a swim in the turquoise waters of Lake McKenzie. I let the others play `lake ball' and rest on the soft, snowy white sand.

DAY I

Tour to Basin Lake, perched high in the dunes.
Visit Central Station and the rainforest boardwalk.
See ancient king ferns at Wanggoolba Creek and visit PileValley's famous Satinay trees.
Take a dip in Lake McKenzie - Fraser's most photographed spot.

DAY 2

Stroll along the boardwalk at Eli Creek.
Visit the Pinnacles Coloured Sands and learn about local mythology
Snap a pic at the wreck of the Maheno.
Climb Indian Head for Fraser's most spectacular views
Experience Mother Nature's Jacuzzi at the Champagne Pools.

DAY 3

Trek through the dunes to emerald-green Lake Wabby
See Fraser's shifting sands at Hammerstone Sandblow.
Enjoy a buffet lunch at Eurong Beach Resort.
Swim in the clear fresh waters of beautiful Lake Birrabeen.
Enjoy an optional Air Fraser joy flight and take off right from the beach.

For a quick getaway ex Brisbane, the 2 Day Cool Dingo Tour is available with an extra night before and after the tour with bus connection departing from Brisbane's Roma StreetTransit Centre. Buses depart daily at 12.30pm (a pick up from Brisbane Airport is available on request) to connect with the 6.30pm ferry to Fraser Island. You'll arrive in time for dinner.
Return service must depart Fraser Island on your last day at 7.50am and arrives in Brisbane at approx 1.45pm (drop off at Brisbane airport on request).
