Your FRASER EXPLORER DAY TOUR shows you the highlights of world heritage Fraser Island's amazing variety of landscape: long surf pounded beaches, luxuriant rainforest, pristine freshwater lakes, wind sculpted sand cliffs in shades of red, orange and yellow, vast desert like sand blows, winding streams, heathlands brilliant with spring wildflowers and forest clad dunes rising to 240 metres, among the highest in the world.

You learn about the fascinating Aboriginal and pioneering history; how the island was formed and it's unique flora and wildlife from your ranger guide.

It will run every day and visit all these magnificent places, except in the most extreme weather, but the order may vary depending on tide conditions.

Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world, has been given the ultimate accolade as a very special environment, by being inscribed on the World Heritage List.

Tour Highlights:
• Walk along beautiful Wanggoolba Creek which flows gently and silently through the rainforest.
• Take a swim in a crystal clear waters of  Lake McKenzie
• Explore Central Station with huge satinay, scribbly gum, brush box and kauri trees.
• Travel the Seventy-Five Mile Beach with coloured sands and the ship wreck Maheno.
• Stop for a swim in Eli Creek which flows into the ocean
• Hot and cold buffet lunch at Eurong Beach Resort.

Itinerary can change due to tides and weather conditions.

Departure details:
• Tour travels from Hervey Bay to River Heads then crosses the Great Sandy Straits to Fraser Island.
• Tour departs Fraser Island on the 4pm barge back to River Heads and returns to Hervey Bay at approximately 5.30pm to drop you off at your accommodation.
