The Summit Rainforest Retreat is located in the Cairns Highlands, also known as the Atherton Tablelands, in Far North Queensland, Australia.

The award winning Summit Rainforest Retreat, is situated at the peak of Hallorans Hill with panoramic mountain views. The Retreat offersaccommodation in a luxurious setting, for you or your groups private indulgence.

The Summit Rainforest Retreat is a five-bedroom holiday house, which sleeps up to 16, or a 1 bedroom apartment which sleeps 4, in a luxurious, natural, environmental setting. Only one booking at a time can be made for this property, so your privacy is assured. Both accommodation types have access to the Seminar or conference room, (if requested).

There are five bedrooms, four of which have private ensuites. The rooms can be configured to suit your requirements into king/twin or queen. The fifth bedroom has two single and two double bunks, ideal for the children.

The Summit Rainforest Retreat is at the very peak of Halloran's Hill, Atherton's highest point. It is situated on the lip of an extinct volcano. The crater of this volcano has a dense Mabi Rainforest covering, this habitat is critically endangered and only 2% of it remains on the Atherton Tablelands. Mabi, is the local indigenous word for the threatened Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo, we have had a number of sightings of this rare species in the last 3 months on The Summit's property. Red legged pademelons, wallabies, bandicoots & possums are significantly easier to spot. John & Helen, (the owners), have planted 3000 mabi trees on the 2 Ha property, to extend this habitat. The huge deck of The Summit overlooks the valley where the township of Atherton is situated, it is a panoramic and breathtaking view. All of this nature, but still only 1.7 km's from the main street of Atherton with all the facilities that it provides. Self drive itineraries are available at Check-in.

Rainforest walks are at your back door, spotlighting at night is a feature, while native pademelons, tree kangaroos and wallabies feed at your feet. The panoramic views, as you relax or entertain, are stunning.

Summit Rainforest Retreat Room Information.

The Summit Rainforest Retreat can be a 3 or 5 bedroom holiday house (can sleep up to 16 depending on configuration), or a 1 bedroom apartment (sleeps 4) in a luxurious, "nature lovers" setting. Ideal for singles, couples, families, groups, multiple couples, weddings, conferences, meetings & seminars etc. Packages for accommodation and conferences are available, so that you can mix business with pleasure.

Each booking for The Summit Rainforest Retreat, has exclusive use of the facilities, this means that only one booking at a time can be made. "Now Open", from August 2008, B&B rooms or the entire dwelling, can also be booked at The Summit's new self contained, non hosted B&B - The Summit B&B. If needed, Atherton Blue Gum B&B is also available for extra accommodation and only a few minutes walk.

Guests at Summit Rainforest Retreat enjoy the luxurious setting of this large five bedroom retreat or 1 bedroom apartment. These include:
