 Dunk Island Resort has an absolute smorgasbord of activities to choose from. On Dunk Island you could start the day with a rainforest walk and take in the spectacular views from the summit of Mt Kootaloo. After breakfast glide round the island on a guided jet ski tour, stopping off for a snorkel over the bommies at Naturalist Beach.

During lunch you can plan the afternoon ahead. Perhaps some water skiing followed by a game of tennis. Or should that be parasailing followed by squash? And that’s just one day on Dunk.

You’ve still got to fit in a trip to the Great Barrier Reef, a visit to the Artists’ Colony, horse riding on the beach, and some game fishing! But in between this frenzy of fun you’ll still find time to relax and unwind. It's as if there’s a powerful tonic in the balmy breeze washing away the stress.

Dunk Island Resort has a variety of restaurants and eateries designed to change the pace and match the mood. The Beachcomber Restaurant more than caters for all those a la carte cravings.

Then there’s EJ’s on the Deck, an island favourite with a savvy sidewalk cafe style. And BB’s on the Beach is great for a relaxing bite to eat. With a postcard view across the palm - fringed beach to distant islands, the Plantation Bar is perfect for a quiet drink together.

Dunk Island Dining

Beachcomber Restaurant
The resort's main restaurant, specialises in fresh tropical style cuisine. A buffet breakfast is served from 7.00am to 10.00am and dinner from 6.00pm to 9.00pm and varies from a la carte to buffet. Breakfast and dinner are included in the accommodation tariff. Friday nights feature an extensive Seafood Buffet with a carvery section, while Tuesday nights feature a Mediterranean buffet with a pasta station. Other evenings feature a daily changing 3 course table d'hote menu (a special children's menu is available on these evenings).

EJ' s On The Deck
Offering a Modern Australian Brasserie style menu featuring a selection of gourmet sandwiches, salads, pastas, Asian dishes, fish & chips, cakes, ice-creams, milkshakes, smoothies, coffees and fresh juices. Opening hours are between 11.00am and 5.00pm.

Plantation Bar
Overlooking the beachfront pool, it' s the perfect place to soak up the rich, tropical ambience of Dunk Island Resort. Open for drinks from 11.00am to midnight. Features nightly entertainment.

Cascade Pool Bar
Open from 11.00am to 4.30pm serving drinks and light snacks (weather permitting).

BB' s On The Beach
BB's features a beach cafe style menu including gourmet pizzas, burgers and a selection of other casual meal options. Open for lunch and snacks from 11.00am to 5.00pm.

Picnic Lunches
A choice of 3 different picnic lunch menus are also available (at a charge).

Beach Barbecues
Occasionally other dinner options may include poolside gourmet BBQ's with traditional Aussie fare or the 'So Wok' kitchen & Asian Buffet nights offering the true Asian kitchen style of fun dining. (Weather permitting).

Flights are available to Cairns from all major Australian capital cities
Qantas & Virgin Blue fly daily to Cairns (CNS)

Hinterland Aviation
Hinterland Aviation operates flights between Cairns Airport and Dunk Island up to 3 times daily. Alternatively, if you would prefer a private transfer charter flights are also available. Flights take approximately 45 minutes.

Boat Transfer
The Quickcat departs Clump Point (2 hours south of Cairns) to Dunk Island and return twice daily. The transfer takes approx. 20 minutes each way.
