Our meeting point for all Yarra Valley flight departures is in the restaurant at Balgownie Estate Winery, located on the corner of Gulf Rd and the Melba Highway, Yarra Glen.

From the meeting point we drive you to the chosen take off point in our off-road vehicles.

At the other end of the morning the same vehicles bring you back to Balgownie Estate Winery to enjoy a 5-star gourmet champagne breakfast. The pilot you have flown with will join you to chat about what happened on today's flight.

Finally you leave with a host of memories - and your very own Diploma of Ballooning as a tangible reminder of your daring in the air and the great time that you had.?

Yarra Valley 's weather...

There is just one thing that we can't control for you - and that is weather. Part of the old-fashioned charm of ballooning is that it remains utterly dependent on nature. For us to fly and for you to enjoy the experience we need light winds and good visibility. Some mornings may look good but even then fast upper winds make a balloon flight unsafe.?

The Yarra Valley area in which we operate is sheltered by surrounding ranges and is therefore an excellent place for ballooning and the odds of flying are high.

Every morning several hours before dawn one of our pilots is checking the weather forecasts and the wind readings from several weather stations around the Yarra Valley and Melbourne to make a decision if the weather is suitable for ballooning.

For you this means you may not get up in the air on exactly the day you had hoped to fly with us.

Flight Confirmation
Please phone our duty pilot on 0418 124 801 the night before your flight between 6.30-7.00 pm to confirm the meeting time and to check the weather outlook. Please Note: For convenience and to avoid phone line congestion this will be a pre-recorded message.

Where to Meet
We meet in the restaurant at Balgownie Estate Winery located on the corner of Gulf Rd and the Melba Highway , Yarra Glen. Melways ref: 267 G7

Travel approx 4 km north of Yarra Glen township on the Melba Highway and turn left into Gulf Rd. The winery entrance is 150 metres on the right.

Breakfast
A 5-star gourmet champagne breakfast is included in your ticket price and provided at the stunning Balgownie Estate Winery after the flight. You can relax and chat with your pilot as you enjoy your sumptuous breakfast.

Non-flying guests are welcome to join you for breakfast for a minimal cost. Please make breakfast reservations the day before the flight and at that stage we can give you some idea of what time breakfast is likely to be.?
