Travel to Kakadu National Park, Australia's largest national park. Call in at the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre near Cooinda to gain an insight into the cultural and historical significance the park holds for its traditional owners. Join a guided cruise on Kakadu's famous wetland area, Yellow Water billabong, keeping a lookout for crocodiles and birds. Visit Nourlangie Rock to see Aboriginal rock paintings. Day 2. Arnhem Land by 4WD, Mikinj Valley, Window on the Wetlands Visitor CentreToday, journey across the East Alligator River into Arnhem Land. Aboriginal-owned, Arnhem Land is one of Australia's most remote and least traversed regions. With special permission from the Manilakarr people, travel to the rarely visited Mikinj Valley. You'll see places inaccessible to most. Hear of traditional land ownership, learn bush skills of hunting and gathering and how to prepare bush tucker. View Aboriginal art in its natural state. Most tours are led or accompanied by an Aboriginal guide. On the return journey to Darwin stop in at the Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine on the viewing deck overlooking the floodplains. Lx1

If Injalak is closed you will visit Cannon Hill and Hawk Dreaming in Kakadu instead. This alternative also applies when seasonal flooding and tides prevent crossing the East Alligator River.
