Australian Pacific Touring Ubirr Art Site Tour

This tour offers two nights accommodation staying inside the World Heritage Kakadu National Park. This allows you plenty of time to explore the wonders of the area including the ancient Aboriginal art sites of Ubirr, the stunning waterfalls of Jim Jim and Twin Falls and to journey deep into Arnhem Land.

Itinerary

Day 1.
Kakadu National Park, Ubirr Art Site, East Alligator River Cruise
Two Night Stay: Kakadu National Park, Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn

Today enter stunning World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, and visit the ancient Aboriginal art sites of Ubirr to see preserved rock art. Following lunch join the famous Guluyambi Cruise and, accompanied by an Aboriginal guide, cruise the East Alligator River. With special permission, take a short walk into Arnhem Land. Lx1

Day 2.
Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls, Kakadu

Travel by 4-wheel drive to the edge of the Arnhem Land escarpment and beautiful Jim Jim Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the park. Enjoy a bushwalk through monsoonal forest surrounded by towering cliffs. Continue along the winding sand track to Twin Falls Gorge where there is time to explore. Lx1

Day 3.
Arnhem Land by 4WD

Journey across the East Alligator River into Arnhem Land. Aboriginal-owned, Arnhem Land is one of the most remote and least traversed regions of Australia. Travel to the rarely visited Mikinj Valley with its sandstone outcrops, escarpments, floodplains and billabongs. With special permission from the Manilakarr people, visit places inaccessible to most. Hear of traditional land ownership, learn bush skills of hunting and gathering and learn how to prepare bush tucker. View ancient Aboriginal art in its untouched natural state - without fences or barriers. Most tours are led or accompanied by an Aboriginal guide. Returning to Darwin, stop at Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre and enjoy a glass of wine while overlooking the lush floodplains. Lx1
