Itinerary

Day 1 Thur. Darwin
The tour begins in Darwin with a visit to the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens. Enjoy time to wander through the unique collections of flora. Afterwards, continue to Fannie Bay and admire views of the Indian Ocean. Tonight, gather with your Tour Director, Driver and fellow travellers for a Welcome Dinner.

Day 2 Fri. Adelaide River, Nabilil Dreaming Sunset Cultural Cruise
Travel to the township of Adelaide River and visit an Australian war cemetery. This evening, head into Nitmiluk National Park and join the Nabilil Dreaming Sunset Cultural Cruise. Cruise down Katherine Gorge as the sun sets, listening to commentary on Aboriginal art and wildlife while enjoying a delicious buffet dinner.

Day 3 Sat. Lake Argyle, Ord River Wildlife Cruise, Kununurra
This morning journey to Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the southern hemisphere. From Lake Argyle, join one of Australia's most scenic and fascinating cruises into the majestic Ord River. As you cruise, admire the peculiar Boab trees and wide variety of birds. Continue to Kununurra.

Day 7 Wed. Argyle Diamond Mine
This morning after breakfast, take a guided tour through the renowned Argyle Diamond Mine, one of the largest in the world. Later, continue to Halls Creek, a fascinating former gold mining town and the centre of the region's vital cattle industry.

Day 8 Thur. Geikie Gorge Cruise with Ranger
Join a local ranger for a guided cruise through Geikie Gorge, famous for its limestone walls which are bleached as the result of seasonal flooding. This is one of Australia's most spectacular waterways and home to an abundance of wildlife, including crocodiles, fruit bats, wallabies, dingoes and many species of bird. Look out for stingrays that have adapted to this freshwater environment. Later, journey to Fitzroy Crossing, on the banks of the Fitzroy River, and settle into your accommodation at Fitzroy River Lodge.
