Day 1: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm). The afternoon is spent touring Kata Tjuta, including a walk at Walpa Gorge. Travel to the sunset viewing area to enjoy nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine and watch the effect of the setting sun on the colour of Uluru. Don't forget your camera!
Accommodation: Outback Pioneer Budget Rooms (L), Outback Pioneer Hotel (R), Desert Gardens Hotel (F) or Sails in the Desert Hotel (S), Ayers Rock Resort.
Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Join the Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour (Y18) or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Walk (Y41). Both tours include a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. See pages 12 & 13 for details of these day tours. Time is available to take an optional helicopter flight (own expense). This afternoon travel to Kings Canyon Resort.
Accommodation: Kings Canyon Lodge (L), Standard Rooms (R, F) or Deluxe Spa Rooms (S), Kings Canyon Resort.
Day 3: Kings Canyon
This morning join your guide for the rocky climb to the canyon rim for superb views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness, supportive footwear essential). Alternatively explore the canyon floor (an easier, shady walk). Travel on to Alice Springs or back to Ayers Rock Resort this afternoon.
